NOC announced on 25/08/2009 that Tatneft Libyan Branch being the second party with NOC in an EPSA agreement, reports that it has drilled A1-82/04 New Field Wildcat well to a total depth of 8.605 ft. The well is in Ghadames Basin located approximately 345 Km south of Tripoli. The initial production testing from Ouan Kasa Formation established an oil flow as follows: |

Dr. Missy (Mary) Feeley, ExxonMobil Chief Geoscientist, USA, presented a talk titled “Advances in Exploration Technologies, Controlled Source Electromagnetic Surveys: Theory and Practice”. The lecture was sponsored by ExxonMobil, Libya and was attended by ESSL members. |

The National Oil Corporation is committed to the conservation of rock samples and in order to manage the technical information of the samples, NOC is interested to establish a central location to store these samples rather than them being spread out in more than one site. NOC and Arabian Gulf Oil Company are aiming to collect these samples and store them in modern storage systems away from the impact of weather conditions. |
