Technical meeting between NOC and British Petroleum Company BP
A Technical meeting held on 23/5/2013 at NOC head quarter between NOC and British Petroleum company BP, The meeting was attended by Mr. Bashir Garea, NOC exploration Department Manager and by the department’s superintendents and technical staff, and from BP Mr. Richard Woodfine VP Exploration North Africa, Mr. Nick Dendy, Commercial Director BP Libya, Mr. John Howie, New Wells Delivery Manager North Africa and Mr. Bashir Musbah Exploration team Leader.


ANNOUNCEMENT OF A NEW OIL DISCOVERY National Oil Corporation (NOC), Sonatrach (SIPEX) Libya (Operator) , Oil India, and Indian Oil being partners in an Exploration and Sharing agreement in area 95/96 signed in May 2008, report initial information concerning the exploration (New Field Wildcat) well A1-96/01 drilled in contract area 95/96 in Ghadames Basin. The well is located approximately 360 km southwest of Tripoli and 70 km south of El-wafa Field.

Chairman of NOC meets with Chairman of Total On Tuesday 29/01/2013 Dr. Nuri Balrwin Chairman of NOC met with
Mr. Christophe de Margerie, Chairman and CEO of French oil and gas company Total S.A and the delegation accompanying him.
The two sides discussed ways of cooperation in oil and gas activity, especially in exploration field, whereas the company has exploration areas that it had won during public bid rounds as well as ways to develop production that carried out by Mabrouk Oil Operations which operates on behalf of NOC and Total.


Confrontation of Oil Spills Workshop In the efforts of NOC to highlight the environmental problems associated with the production operation and manufacturing of oil and gas and to take measures, procedures and solutions to prevent or minimize their occurrence, transfer of knowledge and benefit from the experiences of companies operating in the oil sector,
a workshop was held under the supervision of the National Oil Corporation and in collaboration with BP. a On 21-22/01/2013 in Corinthia hotel in Tripoli entitled (Confrontation of oil spills)

NOC meeting with British trade mission for Energy Industries Council EIC on Monday, 21.01.2013 a meeting was held between
members of trade mission for British Energy Industries Council (EIC) headed by Mr. Terry Willis and Mr. Abul Qasim Shanger member of the management committee of NOC, a number of oil companies directors , managers of departments in NOC as well as a large number of experts and specialists from the ministry , NOC and the oil companies.
In the opening speech Mr. Shanger welcomed the Council, and all the attendance, whereas stressed that business and investment opportunities in Libya are large and available to British companies, similar to other global companies, he also clarified that a large number of trainees from the oil sector are in Britain.

Meeting with Shell
In the framework of continuous cooperation between the NationalImage Oil Corporation and International Oil Companies operating in exploration; a delegation headed by Malcolm Brinded, Executive Director Upstream International and Guy Outen, Executive Vice President EP Strategy and New Business, Mark Hope and Jan Willem Eggink Shell Exploration and Production Country Chairmen met with Dr Shokri Ghanem , Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mr Ali Alsagair NOC General Manager, Mr Belgassim Shenigeer Production Sharing General Manager, and members of the Owners Committee. The meeting addressed current operations and means of developing future cooperation.

NEW OIL DISCOVERY BY TATNEFT

NOC announces on 28/1/2010 that TATNEFT being Imagepartners in an Exploration and Sharing agreement, report initial information concerning the exploration well B1-82/04 New Field Wildcat in Ghadamis Basin. The well is located approximately 345 km South of Tripoli. The well B1-82/04, drilled in Ghadamis Basin area 82 to a total depth 8,750 feet, encountered hydrocarbons in Ouen Kasa with a net pay 11 feet.

A new oil discovery by Sirte
NOC announces today 21/1/2010 that Sirte Oil Company , reports Imagethat it has drilled YYYY1-6 New Field Wildcat well in the Sirte Basin to a total depth of 7,806 feet. The well is located approximately 6 km Southeast Nasser Oil Field.
The well is declared as a commercial discovery, after the initial production test of the Waha Formation at a depth of 7,525 – 7,537 feet produced the following rates:

President of the United Nations General Assembly visit to NOC
The President of the United Nations General Assembly ImageDr. Ali Abdussalam Treki visited NOC on Sunday 17/01/2010 where he met with Dr. Shukri Mohamed Ghanem NOC Chairman .
During this visit the activity of NOC and its policies in investment, exploration and production, manufacturing and marketing was presented .
