A new oil discovery in Sirte Basin Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) is a fully owned by NOC has drilled
the FF2-47 well to a total depth of 7270 feet and tested oil from the Lidam Formation. The well is located in Sirte Basin approximately 80 km south west of Marada Town.
The initial production test flow rates from the Lidam Formation are as follows:

ANNOUNCEMENT OF GAS DISCOVERY IN GHADAMES BASIN National Oil Corporation (NOC)
announce that Sonatrach (SIPEX) Libya (Operator), Oil India, and Indian Oil
being partners in an Exploration and Sharing agreement in area 95/96 signed in May 2008, report initial information concerning the exploration (New Field Wildcat) well C1-96/01 drilled in contract area 95/96 in Ghadames Basin. The well is located approximately 650 km Southwest of Tripoli and 70 km South of El-Wafa Field.
The initial production test result from the Tadrart, Ouan Kasa & Awaynat Wanin Formations is as follow:

The Libyan National Oil Corporation ("NOC") reinstatement and reinforce the declaration of the Force Majeure to (Essider, Ras Lanuf , Zuetina and Hariga) terminals.
NOC wishes to make clear that the crude oil and products located and stored in these terminals is the property of NOC and its Partners.
No person or entity except the NOC and its legitimate partners may transfer title to such crude oil, and no such transfer has occurred.
NOC will pursue all of its remedies to preserve and enforce its rights over the cargo and to hold responsible all the parties participating in illicit transactions relating to it in any jurisdiction, both within and outside of Libya

New Oil Discoveries by Repsol Print E-mail
Dr. Shokri Ghanem, NOC Chairman stated Imagethat the Spanish company Repsol  Exploration Murzuq S.A (REMSA) has made two oil discoveries at block 200 at Murzuq Basin (1000 km south Tripoli – 75 km at the west of Sharara field) at the exploration wells 1)  E1 – NC 200, at 1087 m. depth where the daily production average reached 334 barrels/day at a choke of 64/32 inch and  2) the exploration well G1 – NC 200 at 1372 m. depth where the average daily production was 589 barrels/day at a choke of 64/24 inch.
Dr. Ghanem also indicated that studies are still being carried out for determining the reservoir's size and the amount of  reserves .
This declaration was made in the occasion of the meeting held in Tripoli on 19th April between NOC Chairman and Repsol's President who is currently visiting Libya to discuss expanding Repsol's activities in Libya and increasing investments within oil exploration and production.
Dr. Ghanem further stated that after the completion of all technical and economical studies it has been agreed to develop the significant discovery made in the year 2005 at block 186 which expands to block 115 at Murzuq Basin. The oil in place is estimated by 1.2 billion barrels and the daily production is expected to be 90,000 barrels.
During the above mentioned meeting it was agreed to increase Repsol's production to approximately 400,000 barrels by 2010 . It was also agreed to finalize procedures of renaming Repsol Oil Operations-Libya to become Akakus Oil Operations .
