ANNOUNCEMENT OF A NEW OIL DISCOVERY National Oil Corporation (NOC), Sonatrach (SIPEX) Libya (Operator) , Oil India, and Indian Oil being partners in an Exploration and Sharing agreement in area 95/96 signed in May 2008, report initial information concerning the exploration (New Field Wildcat) well A1-96/01 drilled in contract area 95/96 in Ghadames Basin. The well is located approximately 360 km southwest of Tripoli and 70 km south of El-wafa Field.
The initial production test results from the Carboniferous Tahara Formation are as follow:

Chairman of NOC meets with Chairman of Total On Tuesday 29/01/2013 Dr. Nuri Balrwin Chairman of NOC met with
Mr. Christophe de Margerie, Chairman and CEO of French oil and gas company Total S.A and the delegation accompanying him.
The two sides discussed ways of cooperation in oil and gas activity, especially in exploration field, whereas the company has exploration areas that it had won during public bid rounds as well as ways to develop production that carried out by Mabrouk Oil Operations which operates on behalf of NOC and Total.


Confrontation of Oil Spills Workshop In the efforts of NOC to highlight the environmental problems associated with the production operation and manufacturing of oil and gas and to take measures, procedures and solutions to prevent or minimize their occurrence, transfer of knowledge and benefit from the experiences of companies operating in the oil sector,
a workshop was held under the supervision of the National Oil Corporation and in collaboration with BP. a On 21-22/01/2013 in Corinthia hotel in Tripoli entitled (Confrontation of oil spills)


NOC meeting with British trade mission for Energy Industries Council EIC on Monday, 21.01.2013 a meeting was held between
members of trade mission for British Energy Industries Council (EIC) headed by Mr. Terry Willis and Mr. Abul Qasim Shanger member of the management committee of NOC, a number of oil companies directors , managers of departments in NOC as well as a large number of experts and specialists from the ministry , NOC and the oil companies.
In the opening speech Mr. Shanger welcomed the Council, and all the attendance, whereas stressed that business and investment opportunities in Libya are large and available to British companies, similar to other global companies, he also clarified that a large number of trainees from the oil sector are in Britain.

Meeting for the development of Zawia oil and commercial port On Saturday 19.01.2013 a meeting was held between
Minister of Oil and Gas H.E Dr. Abdul Bari Laroussi and Minister of Communications and Transport H.E AbdulQader Mohammed Ahmed, the meeting addressed the development and expansion of Zawia commercial and oil port to increase its capacity.
The two parties agreed to intensify efforts and to have meeting between the experts periodically in order to build new Libya.

Minister of Oil and Gas visit to AGOCO Print E-mail
HE Minister of Oil and Gas, Mr. Abdul Rahman  Binyeaza visited on Friday, 09/12/2011  the fields of Messla and sareir  which Image belonging to the Arabian  Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), he was accompanied by Mr. Omar Alshukmak Deputy Minister and Mr. Mustafa Sana-Allah the acting chairman of the National Oil Corporation   and Mr. Abul Qasim Shingeer  General Manager, Exploration and Production department of NOC    and Chairman, members of the Management Committee and the managers of  departments of AGOCO
.
The first visited was to Messla oil field which was affected by the destruction and devastation  twice during the months of April and June,  where the company by the effort of its employees  put the field on operation and reached the production of 75 thousand barrels per day out of 100 thousand barrels,  the maximum  production of the field .
The Minister and the accompanying group moved to the Sareir field, the largest oil fields in Libya, which had stopped production after the attack on the power supply, where they had a tour inside the field and listened to an explanations   Imageon how production and operation is conducted and were informed about the production which reached, 160 thousand barrels per day out of  220 thousand barrels the maximum capacity of the field.
The minister also visited the Sareir refinery which capable of refining 10 thousand barrels per day, operated now by 100%, where he expressed thanks and gratitude to all staff of the company on the efforts made for the return of production at full speed without the use of any outside help and promised support by the Ministry of oil and gas in order to improve the conditions of production and of the  workers in all locations.
