Meeting with Shell |

In the framework of continuous cooperation between the National Oil Corporation and International Oil Companies operating in exploration; a delegation headed by Malcolm Brinded, Executive Director Upstream International and Guy Outen, Executive Vice President EP Strategy and New Business, Mark Hope and Jan Willem Eggink Shell Exploration and Production Country Chairmen met with Dr Shokri Ghanem , Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mr Ali Alsagair NOC General Manager, Mr Belgassim Shenigeer Production Sharing General Manager, and members of the Owners Committee. The meeting addressed current operations and means of developing future cooperation.
Shell Exploration and Production Libya signed a long-term integrated agreement with the Libyan National Oil Corporation in May 2005, the first agreement of its kind to be signed in Libya, to extend the life of the existing Marsa Al-Brega plant complete with the exploration and development of five areas in the Sirte Basin, as well as increasing the existing LNG plant capacity and building a new world-scale LNG Plant in Ras Lanuf. Shell further singed an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement with the National Oil Corporation covering Area (89) on February 19, 2008. Having completed seismic and aeromagnetic surveys in the designated concession areas, Shell Exploration and Production Libya has now begun drilling. The rejuvenation of the Marsa Al Brega LNG plant is now also moving forward towards the implementation phase, in partnership with the National Oil Corporation and Sirte Oil Company while Shell provides funding and technical advice. |
